Choose LaunchAF if you want a weekly community launch with votes, comments and a lasting product page, plus a paid path that includes a curated written review. Choose Twelve Tools if you want a fast directory listing: its free plan promises a review within 72 hours and one dofollow link in exchange for a backlink on your site, and its one-time Pro plan promises listing within 24 hours. The services have different purposes and can be used together.

We run LaunchAF, so weigh our comparison accordingly. We read Twelve Tools' public pricing page and LaunchAF's live pricing and submission flow on November 2, 2026. Twelve Tools' page does not describe a launch week, ranking or newsletter, so we compare it as a listing service and say where the page is silent. Prices and rules change, so check both sites before you pay.

How do the formats differ?

LaunchAF is a weekly launch board. A founder submits through a three-step form: product details, choice of plan, and a step where the founder upvotes three other products (not required when the current leaderboard has fewer than three). The product then competes for votes and comments, and it keeps a public profile afterward. Paid launches rank above free launches on the weekly leaderboard, and within each group launches rank by community votes.

Twelve Tools' pricing page describes plans, review times and link types. It does not describe a launch week, a ranking or a newsletter, and it shows no audience numbers. That makes it closer to a directory listing than a launch competition. A listing earns a page and a link; it does not give you a weekly stage on which to collect comments.

This matters for what you can expect. A directory listing is a durable reference and a backlink source. A launch board adds a short burst of attention and discussion. You do not need to pick only one.

How do the free plans compare?

LaunchAF's free launch costs $0. You install the LaunchAF badge, it is verified, and the launch then waits in a community period that the pricing page says is usually 30+ days. The free plan includes a dofollow backlink with the badge required. A new free listing can be delisted if the badge later disappears. It does not include instant publishing, featured placement or newsletter mentions.

Twelve Tools' free plan is also $0 and described as free "forever." The page says it includes "1 dofollow link to boost your SEO," that "a backlink to our site is required (on your homepage or footer)," and that listings are "reviewed within 72 hours." The page marks homepage featuring and priority review as not included, and notes that if you have no space for a badge you can get listed with a paid submission.

Both free routes ask you to host something on your own site. Twelve Tools' stated review time is much shorter. LaunchAF's free route is slower, and in exchange it enters you in a community leaderboard. If speed is your priority, Twelve Tools is the faster free option on paper. Confirm the actual review time when you apply.

How do the paid plans compare?

LaunchAF currently sells two paid launch plans, both one-time and live today after checkout. Alpha is $19 and includes instant publishing, a dofollow backlink with no badge, a gold premium badge and priority support. Beta is $39 and adds 30 days featured across LaunchAF, a curated product review researched and written by us (1,000+ words), a permanent review page, the review shared in the newsletter the week it goes live, an email newsletter mention and a Substack feature. The page says Beta has an honest take with a full refund if the review is not ready.

Twelve Tools sells Pro at $36 as a one-time payment, with the page stating "no subscription." The page also shows a discounted $25.20 button price using a promo code, which may change. Pro lists permanent dofollow links with no backlink needed, listing within 24 hours and regular homepage featuring. The page does not state a newsletter, a review or a ranking.

Pro and Beta are not the same kind of purchase. Pro buys a faster, link-exchange-free listing. Beta buys a launch with a written review and newsletter exposure. Alpha is the closest LaunchAF plan to a pure "publish now and get a dofollow link" purchase.

How should you read the Domain Rating?

Twelve Tools' pricing page does not display a Domain Rating, and we have not independently measured one. Check both sites in the same tool on the same day if the number matters. A higher Domain Rating does not guarantee referral visits or a ranking change, and our Domain Rating guide explains what the score can and cannot tell you. Google's spam policies explain that links purchased or exchanged primarily to manipulate rankings can violate its rules; paid advertising links should be appropriately qualified.

Where LaunchAF wins

A community launch, not just a listing

A LaunchAF launch collects votes and comments during its week and leaves a profile. Twelve Tools' pricing page describes no equivalent. If you want early feedback from other founders, a launch board does something a listing cannot.

A written review on Beta

Beta includes a curated product review of 1,000+ words, a permanent review page and newsletter placement. Twelve Tools' page lists none of these on any plan.

Alpha and Beta need no badge for the dofollow backlink. Twelve Tools' Pro also needs none, so this is a tie on the paid tier. On the free tier, both require you to host a link or badge.

Where Twelve Tools wins

A much shorter stated review time

Twelve Tools says free listings are reviewed within 72 hours and Pro listings within 24 hours. LaunchAF's free route has a waiting period of usually 30+ days. If you need a backlink quickly and do not need a launch week, Twelve Tools is the faster route on paper.

A low-cost one-time paid listing

At $36 for Pro (with a lower promo price shown), Twelve Tools is inexpensive for a permanent listing with dofollow links. LaunchAF's Alpha is $19, which is cheaper, but it buys a different set of benefits.

Directory-style durability

A directory listing does not depend on a launch week. For a founder who wants steady, passive links, that can be a better fit than a weekly competition.

LaunchAF's limits

LaunchAF is newer and smaller than the largest launch communities, and we have no independent traffic comparison with Twelve Tools. Its free route has a long waiting period and needs a badge. Paid launches rank above free ones, and paying buys visibility and speed, not customers. Twelve Tools' pages do not show audience numbers, so neither of us can show a like-for-like reach comparison.

Which should you choose?

Choose LaunchAF when you want a launch week, community feedback and the option of a curated review. Choose Twelve Tools when you want a directory listing with a stated review time and link policy. You can also compare our SaaSHub comparison, the launch platform guide, and the free launch platform matcher.

Can you use both?

Yes. They do different jobs, so there is no conflict. Keep your product name, URL, tagline and screenshots identical across both, and keep any badge or backlink either site requires. Tag your links so you can tell which site sent which visitors. The launch day templates can help you reuse the same copy.

Frequently asked questions

Is Twelve Tools free?

Twelve Tools has a free plan described as free "forever." Its pricing page says the free plan includes one dofollow link, requires a backlink to Twelve Tools on your homepage or footer, and is reviewed within 72 hours. LaunchAF's free launch also costs $0 but requires a verified badge and has a waiting period of usually 30+ days.

Twelve Tools' pricing page lists one dofollow link on the free plan and permanent dofollow links on Pro with no backlink needed. The free plan requires a backlink to Twelve Tools on your site; confirm its ongoing maintenance rules directly. LaunchAF states a dofollow backlink on every plan, with the free plan requiring the verified badge.

How much does Twelve Tools Pro cost?

Twelve Tools lists Pro at $36 as a one-time payment, and the page also shows a $25.20 price using a promo code. Confirm the amount at checkout. LaunchAF's paid plans are Alpha at $19 and Beta at $39, both one-time.

Which is faster, Twelve Tools or LaunchAF?

Twelve Tools states a review within 72 hours for free listings and within 24 hours for Pro. LaunchAF's paid plans publish instantly after checkout, while its free route has a waiting period of usually 30+ days. Neither platform can promise traffic or rankings.

Can I list on Twelve Tools and launch on LaunchAF?

Both can be used together, since a directory listing and a launch week do different jobs. Keep your product details consistent and any required badge or backlink installed. Track referrals from each separately.

The bottom line

LaunchAF suits founders who want a community launch week, a lasting profile and an optional written review. Twelve Tools suits founders who want a fast, inexpensive directory listing with a dofollow link. Read both live pricing pages, then submit your product to LaunchAF when you want the launch week.
